Fast & Healthy Eats on the Upper East Side

Have you ever found yourself out running errands, on the daily drop off run or hurrying to make your Pilates class and you realize that you haven’t eaten anything in 4-6 hours?  Are you tempted to grab the first thing in your path regardless of the nutritional value or fat content?  Is convenience killing your diet?  Are you playing that game in your head where you justify poor diet choices with excuses like, “I don’t have time to eat healthy”, “I work out so I don’t have to eat healthy”, or “I’ll make up for my bad eating at the next meal”?  How many times does that last one really happen?  We all know that maintaining a healthy weight is dependent on daily exercise and eating small, balanced, frequent meals in order to keep that metabolism humming and the body burning.

As any nutritionist will tell you – if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.  I don’t care if you work out everyday, your diet is still important.  It’s important because you need proper nutrition for your body to work to its full efficiency.  It’s important because I know you all want to get the most out of those intense hours in the gym but, most of all, it’s important because you want to be around long enough to see your children have children and their children have children and on and on, ad infinitum.  So, in the spirit of healthy diet choices I have comprised a list of healthy and fast restaurants in the Upper East Side and Midtown East.
